How To Locate Good Tattoo Artists

So you think you’ve considered all the pros and cons of getting a tattoo? The pain involved, whether it will suit you or not, whether you will like it or not etc. But have you considered this: The ultimate effect that the tattoo will have depends on the tattoo artist that you choose to work with?
Many of us spend ages trying to analyze the effect that a tattoo will have on them and how it will make an impact on their lives, but they forget that the most crucial part of the tattooing process is the tattoo artist involved. So, how do you find the best tattoo artist for yourself?

Ask Around
Firstly, ask around, there is nothing better than reviews from other people which can guide you in your choice. If you have friends or family members who have got tattooed of late, you can always ask them who they went to and how they liked the services of the tattoo artist.

Apart from the skill of the tattoo artist you also need to ask whether they got tattooed in a clean place, whether the entire process was comfortable and whether they used fresh needles. You don’t want to put yourself at risk, no matter how good the tattoo artist might be.
Other Resources
Of course, if you don’t want to rely on the reviews people give you, you can also look up sites such as craigslist.com or even the Yellow pages, for that matter. Call up a few tattoo parlours close to your place and find out all you need to, about the tattooing experience offered by them. Some tattoo artists or parlours often allow you to come and visit their establishment so you can have a look and be comfortable with the entire process.
So what should you be on the lookout for during one of these visits to a tattoo parlour?
* Check whether the place is clean. You need to be extra careful regarding this matter. Be sure to check whether single use needles, which are disposable (and disposed of!), are used.
* Check out the designs offered by the tattoo parlour. See how closely the tattoos resemble the actual piece of art to determine how good the artist is.
* Ask questions regarding their tattooing practices.
In fact, if you want opinions on certain tattoo parlours or artists, you can look them up on the internet. You will come across reviews by all sorts of people. Feel free to check out blogs, forums and chat rooms. Try cross checking to be safe. Then, after you’ve found a suitable tattoo artist, go ahead and treat yourself to a tattoo and discover a new you!
